LPG price up by Rs20/kilo
KARACHI (City News) – The price of Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) for domestic and commercial use has escalated due to the gap in supply and demand, senior official of LPG Distributors Association said on Monday.
LPG Distributors Association chairperson Irfan Khokhar believes that the negligence of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has caused a shortage of LPG which is why its rate hiked by Rs. 20 per kilo. Domestic cylinder price has increased by Rs. 230/kilol, whereas that of commercial cylinder by Rs. 900/kilo.
Khokhar claimed that SSGC blacklisted a private company for no valid reason which resulted in the return of two ships loaded with 11,900 metric ton LNG. This also caused a shortage of supply with high demand, making the price of LNG higher than usual.
