ISLAMABAD (City News) – The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) has slapped Rs10 million fine on Colgate-Palmolive for tricky promoting effort of its item ‘Max All Purpose Cleaner (Max APC)’ which is infringing upon Section 10 of the Competition Act, 2010.

The punishment has been forced by a seat containing CCP Chairperson Vadiyya Khalil and Member Ikram Ul Haque Qureshi.

CCP got the protestation from Colgate-Palmolive’s primary rival Reckitt Benckiser Pakistan Ltd which blamed the previous for misleading and bogus advertising of its item.

The complainant said that Colgate-Palmolive hurt Reckitt Benckiser Pakistan Ltd’s business intrigue while making similar claims in an offer to ruin its item – Dettol, a contending item to Max APC.

A show-cause see was issued to Colgate-Palmolive after in request was made in the issue by CCP. Be that as it may; Colgate-Palmolive neglected to give any dependable and sensible proof for its item.

CCP seat discovered four cases made by Colgate-Palmolive as false and deceiving while at the same time hurting the business interests of Reckitt Benckiser and other aggressive organizations.

The seat slapped Rs10 million fine and coordinated Colgate-Palmolive to change all the promoting material identified with Max APC.
