Yearender 2019: Achievements of Pakistan Armed forces
(Web Desk) – Pakistan’s armed forces despite internal and external threats from arch-enemy India; achieved number of milestones and protected the country with pride.
Pakistan Army successfully defended the country on every front with the spirit of sacrifice and support of the nation. Our valiant armed forces bravely faced the external and internal security challenges and defended our motherland despite limited resources.
On February 4, 2019 a vehicle of security forces was attacked in District Pulwama of Indian Occupied Kashmir. India blamed Pakistan to hide its failure and violated Pakistani airspace in the Muzaffarabad sector on February 26 but Indian planes dropped payload near Balakot andescaped s the planes of Pakistan Air Force flew into the air.
February 27 Pakistan responded to Indian misadventure and shot down two technologically advanced Indian fighter planes with locally manufactured JF-17 Thunder and captured Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan which humiliated India around the world. However, Pakistan released disgraced Indian pilot on March 1 as a peace gesture.
Pakistan Army successfully eradicated the menace of terrorism from the country. Forces conducted 367 operations against different terrorist groups. Terrorist attacks reduced by 85% in 2019 as compared to 2011. In 2019, 1575 threat warnings were issued and 150 of them were foiled by security forces and completely eliminated 11 terrorist outfits.
India continued its aggression across Line of Control (LOC) and violated ceasefire 1267 times and martyred 47 people while injuring 241. However Pakistan killed more than 60 Indian soldiers and damaged artillery positions in retaliation.
On westerner border, Pakistan Army fenced 1457km out of 2611km of Afghan border to restrict border crossing for Afghan terrorists.
In narrative war, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) effectively represented armed forces and busted many false claims of India. India’s new cyber security chief even praised DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor and said, “They have got their act together.”
Pakistan signed multiple defense cooperation agreements and conducted joint military exercises with major powers.
Pakistan also achieved important milestones in its missile program. Pakistan tested NASR ballistic missile on 24th and 31st January, Shaheen Missile System on May 23, Ghaznavi missile system on august 29, and conducted successful test of Shaheen-1 on November 18. These missiles provide Pakistan with full spectrum of deterrence and an effective response to India’s cold start doctrine.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited number of countries as part of his military diplomacy campaign. COAS Bajwa visited United Kingdom on June 20, United States on July 22, China on October 8, Iran on November 19 and United Arab Emirates on December 14.
Pakistan won war against terrorism with the sacrifices of Pakistan armed forces now its responsibility to public to play their role in maintaining peace and honor sacrifices of our martyrs.
