KARACHI (City News) – Unannounced power outages for over 12 hours have continued to irk locals in Karachi, Dunya News reported on Friday.

According to details, Karachi’s Jahangir Road, Malir, Gulistan-e-Johar and Pehalwan Goth are facing immense electricity loadshedding.

The locals have alleged K-Electric of suspending the power supply for hours by fooling people over technical fault.

Earlier, National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) had issued show cause notice to K-Electric over unannounced load shedding in Karachi.

NEPRA had directed K-Electric to submit its reply within 15 days. The notice said that the company has consistently failed to comply with the terms of its license and provide uninterrupted power supply to the city.

The notice stated that if K-Electric fails to submit a reply, unilateral action will be taken including the company’s license being suspended or revoked.
